The Colorshocks, Big_Dog, Discussions

So, yeah, the title should say everything: I'm in need of opinions.  The question is, why?

Well, you see, I have been framed.  Framed in what?  Why, the very problem everyone here on Mars is experiencing right now: hacking. Only, in my case, I'm the hacker...  This isn't true, I swear to you all.  I have not been on recently due to school and that kind of stuff.  (You know how it is, right?)

So, how could I hack when I'm not even here?  How does a lame, slow-ass computer even let you hack?  And most importantly, why would I hack?  What's the purpose of hacking, where's the enjoyment in it?  I don't see any entertainment in it...  None at all  :/

What am I asking you?  I'm asking you if you really think I'm the hacker.  If you really think so, I wanna hear about it...  If you don't, I'd like to hear about it , too...

    Sincerely,

             Big_Dog

The enjoyment of a hacker, well, it's the maliciousness you get out of it. (Unless you're a white-hat hacker.) These hacker(s) are definitely black-hat and are trying to ruin the community with their malicious, yet lame scripts. Who thinks you are the hacker? And who framed you? Did they get on your account? Simple logic would prove you are not the hacker.

EDIT: I do not think you're the hacker. The hacker is obviously someone who is feeling "wronged" by the community and wants "justice" through the instillment of fear by hacking.

Bigdog.....i know ur not the hacker, no where close to being it. U weren't framed, u just accidently gave ur IP instead of the other and it's ok but trust me, ur NO WHERE NEAR being the hacker :)

Dont let it get to u, let people spread rumors...you know its not u, i know its not u and sven knows, hopefully others think that as well but as long as WE know its not u than dont sweat the rumors. Remember they're ONLY rumors and nothing more, its like playing telephone. Somthing is said than after awhile it gets changed, so in all reality you shouldnt worry. Thank you though for putting up this post, maybe it will show others that they have misunderstood the truth.

Hello BigDog!

Sorry, yep the hacker is me. I'm not entirely sure where your IP came from, I just had it in my copy buffer so I pasted it and told people it was the hacker. I didn't even know it was yours, I actually thought it was Ender. Hopefully you can see the funny side of the way people spent weeks thinking it was you... and it's not only you who's been accused, for a few minutes in one game I saw a user who was convinced it was Mercedes (BlackDahlia) and for a long while kruncher thought I was ACC_Mad. The reasoning I heard was that he was known to have played Minecraft (EVIL GAME) and had possibly learned to hack there (because every MC player hacks... clearly) and that MC runs on Unity same as Mars (WRONG: it does not use Unity (otherwise the physics wouldn't be so bad). I believe MC may have been around for longer than Unity has been public but I'm not sure).

"How does a lame, slow-ass computer even let you hack?" If you can run the Unity Editor at all you can write a hacking tool, mine doesn't bother to disable the glitched-out graphics but it would be easy to do.

"And most importantly, why would I hack? What's the purpose of hacking, where's the enjoyment in it?" As with all programming, there's an enormous feeling of success when your project works - it feels better than the coffee high you get while writing it. There's the educational aspect; I have a better understanding of how Mars works now, I now have the ability to make Terrium immune to such hack "attacks" as my recent one, and I know what can and can't be done with the type of networking used.

There's also the feeling of power, the novelty of being able to fiddle around with things you shouldn't, the hilarious witch-hunt as people search for you, and numerous other enjoyable feelings. I went public my changing every game's name on the list to "Hacked Game" because I was tired of being pushed down by people who considered themselves superior and... well I guess to try to assert myself, although I didn't intend to try to overthrow anyone. I was just tired of being seen as the immature little "Eric's helper" when in fact I've done easily over half of the work so far (that's excluding the work, which is Eric's entire work, I haven't contributed anything there).

People don't get just how important programming is. All I ask is a small amount of respect, you know, the usual human to human deal of not calling someone a bastard or accusing them of acting superior (re the crown picture, deleted by the poster before being hidden) for trying to get your opinion.

Yes, I'm stubborn, yes, I've been rude in the past. I made a serious effort not to be when I made that post and in the games that followed as a result for it, and I'm sorry, but it hurt. I was trying to appease certain members of the Mars community who thought I was ignoring their input, but it seems I should have just left it. I made mistakes in the past and I don't count the hacking as one of them.

Oh, and one last thing. kruncher's made a big, emotional deal about all this. I don't know how he expected me to feel several months ago when he made public insults concerning me, my coworker, and my work; but I think he may be getting the gist of why I decided it was necessary to leave. I have no sympathy for him as he goes, and if he comes back in a few months seeking revenge, so be it. I'm ready and I probably deserve whatever he throws at me.

Since you've got to this point I assume you've read my lengthy ramble. If you haven't, well, please go read it or don't reply. :)

Your irritating super-noob,
Ace.

TL;DR: No, I don't regret hacking, and I did it for reasons which could be considered wrong (although I don't think they are). And I'm sorry for Big_Dog who got caught up in all of this due to a miscollected IP.

Thank you, Ace, for admitting the truth.  I do see the humor in the whole misunderstanding, and I understand how you thought it might've been someone else (no offense to all).

I have tried hacking, since I can run Unity, but it's always unsuccessful with my computer (You gotta have my computer to understand.  :p  It's that crappy).

I cannot say I have felt an enormous feeling of success or the great feeling of power whenever a project works, but yes, I have felt the coffee high sensation.  Ha ha...  As of right now, I do not have a greater understanding of Mars other than its good programming and, what others would call, a dating site.  I do, however, understand the importance of the programming, and you do have my word for respect.

You may be stubborn, yes -- trust me, I also have the experience -- you may have been slightly rude in the past, but I'm glad to see you're making efforts.

Yeah, we all understand Kruncher's big hissy fit about all this. (If you're reading this Krunch, I appologize.)  Don't worry, I barely have feelings towards him as well (but who would?  No offense to him).  I think you know about what happened between me and him a long time ago.  If you don't, it's just a long story...

Your appology is accepted, Ace.  I'm just typing like crazy instead of just a tiny little sentence 'cause I can  :p

P.S., to all those who informed me about their opinions which I later said I would pm you, you now understand what happened.  I appologize for the wait.

     Sincerely,

             Big_Dog       :)
